A little glimpse into my vintage belt collection. These are my South Western/Hippie belts. I mostly wear these belts in the summer months, since my look leans towards Stevie Nicks. Does anyone else tend to theme their wardrobe depending on the time of year?

Not the most practical jacket, but it's pretty f-ing cool. I've been looking for a motorcycle-style jacket that is not leather and can work in the warmer months. So...maybe it is practical for those needs. Don't you love justifying why you should buy something!?

If you follow this blog or just stumbled upon it and read a few entries, I'm pretty sure you have gathered enough info to conclude that I am one cheap bastard. I am rather proud of my gift of finding amazing things on sale/thrifted/etc.

On any given day, I can look down at my outfit and tell you it costs less than $40 all together.

For some, thrifting and vintage is something new and/or cool, but for me it's been a way of life for a long time. Shopping new gives me zero thrills. Walking into a thrift shop, on the other hand, raises my adrenaline and I will spend hours combing through every inch for treasures.

I love the fact that this jacket is called the "2fer" and that it's on super sale. I am slowly but surely trying to introduce lighter colors into my wardrobe. Outerwear is a good baby step.

I'm inspired by many things, one of my constants has always been Guns-N-Roses. Those dudes had style. When I came across Catherine Malandrino's yellow leather pants, I immediately thought of Izzy Stradlin. I was always in awe of his ability to pull those off. I mean yellow. leather. pants. That shit rules.

No Bummer Summer

When I daydream of summer, I envision barely there shorts, tank tops that hardly touch my skin yet don't need any underpinnings, glistening skin and not a care in the world for days. 

What is my reality is, uber-pale skin that blinds the world, oversized tshirts that breathe yet show my daily bra choice, sweaty/messy skin and hair, and me being..well me! and worrying about pretty much everything known to man. 

I will be in a new place to live in about a month. It will be summer by then and since it's in the deep South, it will be SUMMER. I am looking forward to maybe letting my freak flag fly and not caring too much about wearing too little clothes(I swear my soul in a modest woman in Victorian times). I want to treat this summer like these women above and really enjoy it! I urge everyone to do the same. We always push good times further and further back in order to take care of the daily routine. But I say, Fuck it! At least once or twice month this summer. Let your freedom ring!
