lately

 via

The best part about having a fashion blog is not feeling bad about looking far into the future and making wish lists and premonitions of what I'll be wearing in the coming months. I think that anyone that has any sort of interest in fashion, gets a little fidgety this time of year. As I put on a simple slip dress or cutoffs and a t-shirt day after day this time of year..I start daydreaming of fall fashion and all the possibilities the season ensues.

Yet, this year I have made the realization and therefore the decision to quit pining away for "someday" and "one day" clothing.
I have a formula, whether I like it or not, to what I wear.
I think the excitement doesn't really stem from new anyway. It's the feeling of putting something on and saying/thinking to yourself, "This was made for me".
So...what I'm actually trying to get at is...I'm excited about fall.
Whether I buy some entirely new pieces for my closet or just different versions of what I currently have is up to me and that feels pretty damn liberating.

greenish yellow

My mind has been way more focused on home decor than fashion since moving. But as anything else in my life, it always seeps into my wardrobe. I seriously could gobble anything the color, chartreuse, up with a ladle! I'm totally infatuated with how bright yet neutral this color can be.

not so basic basics

I've been on a vintage denim kick lately!

1st Pic- 1970's Denim Bell Bottoms
2nd Pic- 1970's Floral Print Chambray Jumpsuit
3rd Pic- 1990's Halter Dress

feria to the rescue

Yowza!! I haven't been this into a Jeffrey Campbell shoe since they released the Tardy. Everything about this boot is perfect. The shiny, stiff leather. The pointed toe. The sleek chunkiness. The white stitching. The cutouts(duh!). Just as I was giving up on the current state of shoe design..(seriously..I can't even find styles I like on Solestruck these days), these come out of left field.
All is right with the world once again.
Because, as you know, cute shoes make the world go 'round.

home for now

I found this website/product while I was madly doing research for temporary design fabrications that I could use in my new apartment. These temporary wall covering from Swag Paper are genius, user friendly, and not uber expensive. I haven't ordered any yet, as I'm still in the process of figuring out my overall design for most of the apartment but I really wanted to share the product with y'all because they're so dope!

denim thighs

"Boyfriend" shorts..or what I like to call them, normal length shorts! ;)
I'm diggin the trend, though.
I am over seeing young girls with their ass and vaginas hanging out of their shorts like they are Erin Wasson or something.

semi formal

These are pretty effing adorable.
I've never wanted to wear the collar to a button up shirt around my ankles but now I do.

over and out

I'm looking forward to over the knee boots this Fall/Winter. Finding the perfect pair that fit my chicken legs and won't make me look like a street walker will prove to be challenge but I'm totally up for it.
What challenging piece of fashion are you stoked for!?

black isn't black anymore

Kate Lanphear is quite literally one of the only high profile people that I truly feel has a real sense of personal style. She has a tried and true uniform..which is pretty similar to mine..which makes me feel like we are kindred spirits or something. I never look at her ensembles and think that she's wearing something just because a designer sent her it to get photographed in for an amp in sales. The hierarchy of fashion always makes me want to shun my adoration for it, but people like Kate keep it real. And that means a lot to me. This article always comes to mind and is truly an inspiration.
