l'orange

orange you glad

I think living in a place where the seasons don't really change, the key to wardrobe happiness is changing up the colors you wear most. Mixing in some autumn inspired hues in breathable and warm weather approved clothing and beauty products should do.

dirty black summer

dirty black summer

I'm in complete denial that I will be living in central Florida in a months time and most of  the choices above will not suit the hotter than balls weather. But, I was inspired by Glenn Danzig...so there you go.

inch by inch

winter

I'm getting my haircut today for the first time in 2 years. It's definitely due! Even though I'm not doing anything super crazy...I'm excited for a little change and I'm sure my wardrobe will feel different and new. Isn't it weird how that works? A few inches can make certain articles of clothing look that much better! I'm excited to wear more fur, interesting collars, jewelry that my long lifeless hair was hiding/ruining.

start gettin real

start gettin real

Do you remember how much older and cooler everybody on The Real World seemed when you watched it in middle school? And now....you watch and cringe and mutter to yourself how irresponsible and stupid they seem..
But..those first few seasons in the early 90s always remain good memories of cool/interesting young adults...well..as much as I can recollect.
Real World London was one of my favorites because of Jacinda and Neil. She had awesome vintage style and he was cute and both he and his girlfriend had cool style. 15+ years later, I think of them when I wear a vintage chiffon dress with my beat up frye boots or when I throw on my striped mohair sweater and creepers. Weird how inspiration/memories really do become one in the same as time goes on. Regarding fashion and other ACTUAL important things! :)

P.S. Do you remember when Neil almost got his tongue bitten out!!

nifty

nifty

It seems the more my style changes the more it stays the same. I'm always still so enamored of that vintage 50's look. When I was 21 it was just not as clean and well edited. Instead of buying for the sole purpose of something being vintage or a vintage look a like when I was younger, I now opt for detail/wearability/longevity/craftsmanship. I like all of these options I picked for Spring because they all work with each other. I think that is also a big change the older I get. My closet is no longer a hodge podge of trends and staples. It's becoming a more cohesive collection of my actual, personal taste that if I had to pull pieces blindfolded, my outfit would be pretty damn sweet!
