gemini's twin

I have officially been bitten by the summertime bug. These hot weather wears by legend, Claire McCardell, seem pretty damn perfect right about now.

drivin on 4

I've been in the moving "state" since June 10th.
I've tried to document most of it via Instagram.
If you don't currently follow me, then..here ya go!

This is me completely overwhelmed with the whole moving thing.

For some reason, one of the last things I packed was my Elvis jumpsuit.

After the awfulness that is moving, we took the following day to explore our new surroundings and enjoy the sweet delights of 7-11!! They don't have those in NC, so being in FL is kind of amazing just for that modern convenience! No seriously..it's amazing! and convenient!

The cuteness in downtown Winter Park is out of control and I'm super thankful that we made the decision to move here!

I'm stoked to be here but....the fact that I currently have zero! dishwasher safe dishes sucks at life. Me and my dude literally spent 5 hours washing dishes. Yikes!

Still getting used to all the lizards hanging out everywhere. But man!! the Sunshine State has been super awesome so far!!

I hope to document a hell of a lot more, so stay tuned or follow me on Instagram!

the market of pixie

the market of pixie

All via Pixie Market

I feel like Pixie Market is Nasty Gal's cooler, older sister. The Pixie Market girl is definitely more of a NY girl. She wears a lot of black but puts a jolt in her wardrobe with interesting pieces and random pops of color. The Pixie Market girl shares a few of the same pieces with her younger west coast sister but creates a more refined look with a bit of an edge.

I was on the Pixie Market site ogling their awesome selection when this "story" came to me. This is how my brain works.
I am constantly going on the Nasty Gal site to see what's new and what's on sale. But I think I need to turn my focus on Pixie Market. They carry pieces that resonate with me much more.
Deep Thoughts...with Liz B. ;)

facetime

Okay, these are not the best quality...I'm still learning the settings to my camera...that I've had for like 5 years. But, I wanted to do a little makeup post. So I had to show some proof that I do have a face and it's not always hidden by Instagram filters...although the blurriness of these shots are kind of like a poor mans photoshop.

Anywho, I have found a very easy/fast/basic routine with products I like, would definitely buy again, and don't break out from. The products below are the newer ones in my makeup arsenal that I love and couldn't imagine not using everyday.

I use both of these products everyday. I'm a fan of Rimmel eyeliner because it's affordable and doesn't flake off after a couple hours. I have worn cateye style liner everyday for about 5-6 years so I feel like I'm a pretty good judge of liquid or gel liner. I use the Glam Eyes to draw the cateye on my top lid and the gel liner for my bottom lid, for a softer look.

This blush is the jump off! I just started using this after using cream/mousse blush for as long as I can remember. I was skeptical to use powder since I have super dry skin but I really wanted something that included a highlighter and bronzer. I'm literally obsessed with it. It makes me feel pretty and isn't that the whole point of makeup.

I guess I've become a Revlon whore because this product is also amazing!! If you don't like lipstick, don't wear lipstick, scared to wear lipstick, don't know how to apply lipstick, or whatever else makes someone not wear lipstick..then this product is for you. Seriously. I am very very lazy when it comes to taking care of my lips. I hardly remember to put on lip balm. My lips are constantly dry. They are thin. They hardly have a pigment to them. My lips totally suck. Until this lipstain came along. I only bought it in the first place because it was on sale and I wanted to treat myself for another week of being a non-smoker. I have never been so glad about an impulsive purchase! I use the "Lovesick" color and its perfect for everyday. I can apply it haphazardly while in the car at a stop light and it looks good. The stain doesn't dry out my lips and stays on for a good while. This product also makes me feel pretty and fancy.

keep the light on

A little apprehensive with the all white trend.
These Edwardian inspired dresses from Zara are helping me see the light.

yes please

I love me some Nasty Gal. But, I am too old to pull off some of their fast fashion and revival trends. These are my top picks from their recent new arrivals. They are fun, on trend, but can stand the test of time(longer than 3 months..) so I won't feel like I'm wasting my hard earned money.
